Weight Loss Challenge

OMG, I am so sorry about the lack of a personal video for the challenge; There was some serious technical difficulty moving from one platform (MAC) to another (Windows).   At the moment, I don't want to be a MAC or a PC: too much trouble with both.  Anyway, we won't let that steal our thunder.  I will give you the weight loss results and hope that you can feel my positive energy.  To begin with, I lost another pound.  I have been exercising religiously, but the food situation remains changed only slightly, which probably accounts for the one pound.   I have a net loss of 3 pounds, but I have to really kick it up a notch, so I can go to edress.com and pick out my New Years dress.  I hope that all of you are doing well and reaching your goals.  Remember that each day presents an opportunity for positive change.    Don't let anyone say you can't, because today you can.  Again, I am very sorry that there was no personal video from me to accompany this report, but it was out of my control.  I am sure that you will enjoy the video from Diet.com and get some good exercise moves as well. That's it for now, but please leave me comments and let me know how you're doing.    Also, thank you for the subscription love and let me know how we're doing at Beeline2Beauty.

Michelle Obama on Paula Deen

I must say that one of my favorite celebrity food personalities is Paula Deen.   I am always mesmerized at how she puts so much love in her food and the scrumptious meals and desserts that she bakes up.  I haven't been watching lately and it appears that in my absence, I missed a guest appearance by Ms. Michelle Obama, which aired on September 20, 2008.  Michelle was invited on the show to do some down home cooking with Paula.  By her own admission, she has been a little busy and hasn't been spending a whole lot of time in the kitchen.   Just to let you know, the offer has also been extended to Jill Biden and Sarah Palin.

Heather Locklear Locked Down

Heather_2_2Heather

For all of you Heather Locklear fans, I regret to inform you that she was arrested on Saturday night for allegedly driving while under the influence of prescription drugs.  911 was called when she was driving erratically and continued to drive back and forth over a pair of sunglasses (hope they weren't Versace).  It appears that Ms. Locklear who is 47 is going through a rough period, and I am sure that she will pull herself together and get out of the funky depression that's brought her to this point.   Don't worry, she's out of jail on $5,000 bail and before you know it, she'll probably check in to some fancy rehab and become a spokesperson for some worthwhile cause. However, she must also figure out how to deal with the awful mug shot that was taken of her.  It is absolutely abhorrent.  We all know Heather as a beautiful, glamorous woman and they make her look like someone who they just grabbed off skid row.  She really should have tried to bribe someone not to take that awful picture.  Remember folks, there really is no perfect.  The illusionists rule the world.

The New Viva Diva

Fergie

The newest member of the Glam Viva Diva's is none other than Fergie herself.  We love the music and now she joins the ranks of Mary J. Blige, Lil Kim, Eve and Dita Von Geese as the face of the newest Viva Glam IV SE (special edition) lip glass.   The lipglass is a compliment for the Viva Glam lipstick, which is a soft pink-tinged mauve.    For those who don't know, when you purchase a Viva Glam lipstick, MAC donates 100% of the money to fund AIDS research.  To date, they have donated millions of dollars to find a cure.  MAC is a company with a conscience and they have demonstrated leadership in AIDS research.  This is just icing on the cake for the company that has a universal approach to beauty with colors that can be rich and vibrant or soft and subtle.  MAC is the only cosmetic counter that is continuously flocked with loyal followers who wait to have the "MAC Experience".

My Humble Opinion of the Bailout

Eng_bush_gbs_bm_bay_669061g

Good morning, I wanted to take a few minutes to give my humble assessment of the mortgage crisis and what penalties should befall those individuals who find themselves at the mercy of the government. In my humble opinion, I feel that the large community of banks and other financial institutions who benefitted so greatly at the cost of the average American taxpayer should not be given the umbrella they seek. It will be difficult, if not impossible for the "government" to fix this situation and change things for the betterment of society. I have yet to see something that the government has taken over or played a large part in that works well. Private industry is a good thing and the government would probably muck this situation up all the more. I personally feel that the companies and corporations who find themselves in this situation should have to answer financially to the taxpayers. What does that mean? Well, I think that the banks and corporations should have to wipe your debt (credit cards, HOE loans) clean and give you the same umbrella that they are receiving. That will never happen and it would probably be an economic nightmare, but would it really be any worse than what's already happening? Would that not get some burden off of the taxpayer and leave more spendable cash in the kitty. Hmmh, just a thought. What do you think should happen?

For you fashionable ladies and Juicy Couture divas, I found the cutest cell phone case mady by Juicy Couture.  It features their signature pink color with a detachable gold chain.  It's really cute, feminine and can hold most average sized cell phones.  It comes in signature pink and black, and costs $75.00.

Beauty and the Zit

Warning, Video Is Not for the faint of heart

No one likes to have a bulging zit on their face. Yes, you know the kind that has a heartbeat. Well, I was reading a beauty forum today and a girl was asking how to get rid of a zit in a short period of time. She was going on a date with a new guy. The advice provided was to take a pin and stick it in the area. I could not believe what I was reading. Talk about bad advice. Many zits if prodded too early will simply remain where they are and retain part of the sebum because they weren't ready to be extracted anyway. If you have ever had a facial, you are probably familiar with extractions, which is where they survey your face and stick a lancet through mature bumps to squeeze out white heads, black heads and oil. I have never had a "pin" stuck in my face and wouldn't recommend it for anyone. The end of a needle is much larger than a lancet and could leave quite a nasty scar if you don't know what you are doing. Estheticians know exactly where to stick the lancet to ensure that the oils are released and they follow up with the proper extraction tool to ensure that all materials are released from the zit. In addition, they are very sterile in how they handle lancets and other tools. Messing with premature bumps can cause nasty scarring and you will have the burden of getting the rest of the material out when it's ready. File that under "W" because you have been warned.

Caring for Lashes

For those of you who are die hard mascara enthusiasts, do you ever find that your lashes are less than full or brittle and shorter.  Well, I recently learned that your eyelashes must be cared for in much the same way as your hair.  Just as hair requires conditioning, so does your lashes.   I cant say enough about how important it is to take care of your natural God given beauty, because at the end of the day, that's what you have to live with.  It appears that if you take your makeup off incorrectly, or fail to condition those lashes, you could ruin your lashes, which would leave you at the mercy of false eyelashes.  Don't let this happen!  When removing your eye makeup, don't do like I used to and take your cleanser and rub it all over your face and hope for the best.  Instead soak a cotton pad in an oil based makeup remover and press on to the lashes.  Don't remove immediately, but let it sit a few seconds and then rub makeup off gently.  Wouldn't it be cool if they made a lash conditioner that came in the same type bottle as the mascara and you used it at bed time to keep those lashes well conditioned.  Just a thought.  If there is such a thing, please let me know.  I love the look of mascara, but I am also fond of my own lashes.

BEAUTY PERFECTED?

Hello all, I thought you would really enjoy this makeover of Eva Longoria, who I think is gorgeous. However, as you can see, she is a real person and needs a little help, just like the rest of us. She has a great palette to work with, but as you can see, there is no such thing as perfection.  Photoshop is the industry standard for photo correction and can literally change your entire face.  Eva's makeover was pretty mild by standards, but you get the point.
