Here we go again with yet another retail giant closing their doors. The famous shoe store, Shoe Pavilion will be closing all of its stores after 29 years in business. Folks, this is getting scary. First Mervyn's, now this. The Shoe Pavilion is known as the largest independent off-price footwear retailer on the West Coast. They will be closing 64 stores in California, Washington, Oregon and New Mexico.
I am very unhappy about this, but the one bright side of this debacle is that they will be having a going out of business sale that is supposed to be unbelievable. If you get there before I do, let me know what sort of deals they have. Sometimes retailers will wait until the last minute to place things at their rock bottom price, so I'm not in any hurry to get there. I am hoping they treat this more like a fire sale. Folks, this is not good, the economy is in trouble and jobs are disappearing. I can't believe we are in such a state of financial upheaval. People are not spending and jobs are disappearing. Heck, my own wallet is in trouble. May day, May day! When will the help come? Oh yes, it's here to the tune of $700 billion dollars. Hmmh, a lot of good it's doing. Stop crying and go get your shoes.
