I thought after Tina Turner's 2000 tour, she was done with touring, but we will once again be graced by the rock and roll legend as she does yet another tour this year. She'll be touring several cities in North America and the UK where the concert goers will hear some of Tina's best music. From Proud Mary to Private Dancer there will be no lack of hit songs, and there is sure to be plenty of spinning, shimmying and grooving. She's still got it and she's going to give it all to her concert goers. When I look at Tina, I am always astonished at how beautiful and timeless she is. If anyone has found the fountain of youth, it is truly her. It's clear that after she gave Ike the boot, she really took time to take care of Tina and she's still doing it today. I mean, what woman goes on tour at 68. That speaks loads to her celebrity and mass appeal. For the tour, she has reunited with Bob Mackie to design the fabulous costumes for the shows. Tina is a woman who has persevered, transcended and truly succeeded at finding the essence of herself. We could all pull a page out of her beauty manual because Tina is the epitomy of a Diva.
I must say that one of my favorite celebrity food personalities is Paula Deen. I am always mesmerized at how she puts so much love in her food and the scrumptious meals and desserts that she bakes up. I haven't been watching lately and it appears that in my absence, I missed a guest appearance by Ms. Michelle Obama, which aired on September 20, 2008. Michelle was invited on the show to do some down home cooking with Paula. By her own admission, she has been a little busy and hasn't been spending a whole lot of time in the kitchen. Just to let you know, the offer has also been extended to Jill Biden and Sarah Palin.
With the Emmy's a day behind us, the buzz is still roaring on which celebrities were the best and worst dressed. Typically, the worst dressed is unanimous, so I won't bore you with that. I will tell you that I had a few favorites who I felt represented the Emmy's in true form and fashion. My number one pick is Brooke Shields who looked fabulous in her Badgley-Mischka dress. She was sophicated, elegant and fit as a fiddle. No sign of childbirth on that body. You go Brooke! Next I chose Tina Fey, whose black David Meister dress fit like the perfect glove. It was very classy and reminded me of old Hollywood glamour. My last pick was Vanessa Williams who can make any dress look good. She looked fabulous in her gown designed by Kevin Hall. Well, that's it for me. Who was your favorite pick of the evening? Did I get it right? Did I miss anyone?
Here's a bit of buzz for those of you who don't know. I hear that Heidi Klum from Project Runway is having a bit of a tiff with Ms. J. Lo. Why you ask? Well, apparently, J. Lo was supposed to announce the winner of the finale of the hit television show, Project Runway and canceled at the last minute, leaving Heidi in a bit of situation. The show was forced to have fashion guru, Tim Gunn announce the winner. Now, Tim's no mashed potatoes, but he also does not carry the diva prowess of J. Lo. I heard that Heidi made mention of Marc Anthony as being a skeletor. Ooooh, the gloves are off. In J. Lo's defense, she did have twins and is really focusing on motherhood, which is I can understand. However, after giving Project Runway the excuse of having a hurt foot, she ran a triathalon and danced the night away at her husbands birthday party. This would definitely make me a little tee'd off if I was Heidi. Ms. Lo seems to have a habit of making enemies with the wrong people. We'll serve this one under "O" for oops, I did it again.
