Summer is quickly approaching. The best dresses are, well, let's just say not in my size. What to do, what to do? I can't stick to a diet because I am the proverbial social eater. Good food and family, or good food and friends is what I live for. Rewind. Am I really living or eating myself into an early, fat grave. Let's just talk about some things that I absolutely won't do. I won't eat raw food, because that's for rabbits. I won't do all carbs because I would get sick. Here we are back to the old mantra of exercise and a sensible diet. Okay, that's the plan. Oh yes, we must have a plan. Now, whether we stick to it or not, we still must have a goal and a plan. I need to get this rediculous part of my life into perspective, both figuratively and literally. Hey, you should never give up on you, and a wise man once said, "you can't know success, until you know failure." Quite frankly, I desire no acquaintence with failure, but in actuality, the quote makes sense and now it's time for round two - ding, ding.

Thanks to my mom, I have a one week pass to Curves. When I was a gym fanatic (and I was at one time), I preferred a larger gym setting with plenty of machines, televisions, and preferrably a pool. The Curve's setting is laid back and the concept is to work each muscle of your body for a vigorous thirty seconds, recover and then move to another machine. You don't see many Ipods or people hanging around and shooting the breeze over machines, because everyone stays engaged. Each thirty minutes requires you to listen and take action. At this stage, I have to work out with a coach to ensure that the machines are done properly. After three visits, I get to use the machines on my own. It's really great to have someone coaxing you to do more, and ensure that you are using the machines properly. The great part is that it's a 30 minute workout that hits every major muscle area in the body. I haven't decided whether to join or not, but I really feel like this is what I need to get started. At this point, I am undecided, but I will let you know the outcome next week.

Over the weekend I played basketball with my daughter, and I took some photos of her, and she took some of me. Needless to say my daughter looked fabulous in every shot. When I looked at my proofs, I was mortified. No matter what angle she shot, I was fat, fat and fatter. It was a wake up call for sure. I love that my daughter is fit and active. I am going to use this as an opportunity for us to spend time together and do things that are conducive to active living. I am also going to post the pictures on my refrigerator, because they cleary are screaming, "just say no to food." I can't speak for anyone but myself, but I want to be fit and healthy and I feel confident that I can accomplish my goal. I'm going to do this one day at a time, because I know it won't be easy, but as my sister says, "Nothing tastes as good as thin feels." I'll update you periodically on how I'm doing and the struggles that go along with trying to lose weight. I know we've been there and done that, but we won't stop until we are victorious.

The Coach store at the Tanger Outlet in Barstow never let me down. Today we got up early this morning and headed down the 15 freeway to the popular Coach store. Let me rewind a little. The Coach store has been a staple at the Tanger Outlet for many years, but in recent months it has been moved to another location at the outlet and received a major facelift and additional square footage. When we arrived things were in full swing. Women with husbands in tow were grabbing at purses and holding them for ransom, whether they were going to purchase them or not. Oops, I did that too. Any who, the deals were unbelieveable. The idea is to provide shoppers with a 25% discount on any one item within participating stores. We shoppers paid $1.00 for the pink card and it could be used at any of several participating stores. As you see in the video, I was hording the purses, but in reality, I only bought one and it was regulary $309.00, marked down all the way to $119.00. I received an additional 50% off, so I got a great purse at what I would call a steal.

Guys, I am so sorry about the delay, but I am having technical difficulty. I completed the video, but was unable to render it for the web. I'm checking into it and I will have a video out on Saturday with results and all. I am going to change the results date from Saturday to Saturday because that is my off day and I can feel more relaxed and available to handle any difficulties that may arise. That said, I hope that your results are steady and consistent. I'll have my results on Saturday on video as promised. I truly apologize for the delay. Until Saturday, check out the video. This guy shows that there is no such thing as mission impossible.

OMG, I am so sorry about the lack of a personal video for the challenge; There was some serious technical difficulty moving from one platform (MAC) to another (Windows). At the moment, I don't want to be a MAC or a PC: too much trouble with both. Anyway, we won't let that steal our thunder. I will give you the weight loss results and hope that you can feel my positive energy. To begin with, I lost another pound. I have been exercising religiously, but the food situation remains changed only slightly, which probably accounts for the one pound. I have a net loss of 3 pounds, but I have to really kick it up a notch, so I can go to edress.com and pick out my New Years dress. I hope that all of you are doing well and reaching your goals. Remember that each day presents an opportunity for positive change. Don't let anyone say you can't, because today you can. Again, I am very sorry that there was no personal video from me to accompany this report, but it was out of my control. I am sure that you will enjoy the video from Diet.com and get some good exercise moves as well. That's it for now, but please leave me comments and let me know how you're doing. Also, thank you for the subscription love and let me know how we're doing at Beeline2Beauty.

I checked into the Janet Jackson rapid weight loss story and it turns out that her nutritionist David Allen designed a weight loss plan for her. I looked at a sample menu and the diet looks very familiar to the Atkins program. I think it may allow you a few more carbohydrates, but sugar, flour, sodas and alcohol are all off limits. Boo, hoo, hoo all you weekend drinkers. If you want to follow this diet, you will have to put down the sauce. Janet's calorie intake was between 1150 to 1450, which is nothing. The lack of carbs and low calories put her metabolism into overdrive, which allowed her to lose 60 pounds in 4 months. Although I think this diet is a little strict, it does work. That said, I will not be doing it because I don't think it will hold up for the long haul. Janet says its a way of life, but I believe that moderation, limiting carbs and exercise are the key. David Allen has a website and Janet is posted all over it to toot his horn. You can check out his website at http://www.davidallennutrition.com. Janet looks fabulously gorgeous!
